Everything New Is Old Again (#000001)

 Portraits

There is a chance this may seem pretentious, yet it is not intended to be so.

It is strange how you can hide and lie to yourself about what you want in life and what you are doing. Combining the pictures for this post, pictures created over the last three to four weeks, I realised that each shows a stage in breaking down the barriers we put up to protect ourselves from criticism and ridicule. The attitudes and knowing post-modern smirk we make when attempting to avoid the feelings of creating something without second-thought or analysis.

I did say this may seem pretentious.

To explain in simpler terms; After making the decision to start anew with this blog, I spent some time  thinking over what to do for the first post of this volume (so to speak). If I posted something similar to the previous posts, what would be the point of ending a volume? After a few weeks of attempting and discarding various things, I feel into the warm embrace of my old and trusted friend, female portraiture.

Which leads to the pictures.
